Bill Hamilton, Class of 1975, was awarded the 1989 Distinguished Public Service Award by the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs' Alumni Association.
Hamilton has a long and distinguished history of public service. Hamilton served as deputy comptroller of public accounts under Texas Comptroller Carole Keeton Strayhorn and John Sharp. In this capacity, Hamilton was responsible for day-to-day operations on an array of statewide financial matters.
He has been honored with numerous awards and affiliations including the Bob Bullock Award for Public Stewardship, Administrator of the Year by the Texas State Agency Business Administrators Association, and was the fellow of the National Academy of Public Administration.
