Elderly Policy Issues Forum to Take Place at LBJ School

LBJ School Professor Jacqueline Angel will moderate a public forum titled "Critical Issues Facing Older Adults and Congress" at the School's Bass Lecture Hall on November 2 from 7 to 9 p.m.

Topics of discussion will include prescription drugs, Social Security, Medicare proposals, and congressional reforms. Panelists include Pete Fredriksen of Texas AARP; Glyn Hammons of the National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare; Eduardo Sanchez, lead physician at the Seton Topfer Health Clinic; and Susan Smith, Austin American-Statesman reporter. The event is sponsored by Family Eldercare and Texas AARP. Family Eldercare will hold its annual meeting after the forum.
