LBJ School to Host Pre-Session Legislative Conference Newly elected and returning Texas legislators will gather at the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs to discuss critical issues they will face in the January 2001 legislative session. This year's "All Members Session" of the Pre-Session Legislative Conference will be divided into four panels that will examine E-Government and the Digital Economy, Emerging Health Issues, Education Issues, and Environmental Issues. UT Austin President Larry Faulkner will open the conference and host its luncheon at the LBJ Library and Museum. UT Austin Head Football Coach Mack Brown will give the keynote address. A schedule and complete list of panelists is listed below. The All Members Session will take place on Thursday, November 30, 2000, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Thompson Conference Center, Room 2.102, on the corner of Red River and Dean Keeton streets at The University of Texas at Austin. The LBJ School's Pre-Session Legislative Conference has grown into a 30-year tradition in the Texas State Legislature. Innovative in its approach, the biennial program educates and prepares newly elected state legislators on key government operations and critical issues they will face in the upcoming session.
