Lecture on Presidential Transition to be Held at LBJ School "Riding the Freight Train: Planning for the Presidential Transition to Governing" will be the topic of a brown bag lecture by Dr. Terry Sullivan at the LBJ School on Tuesday, October 31. Sullivan is Associate Director of the White House 2001 Project, which prepares materials intended to ease the upcoming presidential transition. He will discuss his involvement in Project 2001 and provide insight into the process of shifting national governing power. Sullivan holds the Edwards Chair in Democracy at the James A. Baker III Institute for Public Policy of Rice University. He is also a member of the political science faculty at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. His areas of expertise include presidential leadership and congressional rules. Sullivan earned his Ph.D. in 1980 at the University of Texas at Austin. Members of the media are invited to attend the lecture at 12:15 p.m. in Sid Richardson Hall, Unit 3, in the student lounge at the LBJ School.
