Senators Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton participated in a Democratic presidential primary debate at The University of Texas at Austin on Thursday, February 21. The debate was hosted by the University Democrats and was presented by the Lyndon B. Johnson Foundation on behalf of the LBJ School of Public Affairs and the LBJ Library, CNN and Univision Communications, Inc.
While sparks flew on stage, LBJ Students played a critical role behind the scenes. Our students helped on set with sound and lighting checks, were in the spin room after the debate escorting campaign surrogates and media experts, helped with logistics at the event as ushers and crowd control, and even volunteered to stay behind and help clean up. From beginning to end, Dean Steinberg and the LBJ School were committed to making this event exciting and educational not just for the people of Texas and our nation, but most especially for our students.
Below you will find press clippings, pictures, and video of the LBJ School and its part in the Democratic Debate.
