Hadden, a professor at the LBJ School from 1979 until her death in January 1995, was a national leader in telecommunications policy and citizen access. She was also a fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science and served on numerous advisory boards and committees related to telecommunications and environmental issues.
According to Judy Caskey, Assistant to the Dean, the major gift that established the Susan Ginsburg Hadden Fellowship Fund came from Hadden's parents. After receiving the gift, the LBJ School launched a fundraising campaign this fall to raise the level of the endowment to $50,000.
"A contribution to the Fellowship Fund is a particularly fitting way to honor Susan, whose dedication to learning and scholarship continues to command our respect and admiration," said Dean Max Sherman.
Donations to the Hadden Fellowship Fund may be sent (with an enclosed note directing the donation to the fund) to Judy Caskey, LBJ School of Public Affairs, Box Y, Austin, TX 78713.
