Inman is Austinite of the year The Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce named LBJ School Professor Bob Inman as the 2001 Austinite of the Year at its annual meeting on February 7. During the ceremony, a film narrated by CBS news anchor Dan Rather highlighted Inman's contributions toward national security, investment in high technology, public service, and education. Inman became an adjunct professor at UT Austin in 1987. The LBJ School appointed him as a tenured professor, holding the Lyndon B. Johnson Centennial Chair in National Policy, in August 2001. Other members of the LBJ School community who have received the award include Walt and Elspeth Rostow and former LBJ School Dean Max Sherman. |
