Description: This seminar on effective writing is a new, one hour, course in the curriculum, offered during the second 4 weeks of the semester, October 1 – 24. It is designed to assist several groups of students: those planning or working on a PR, those who wish to enhance their writing skills, and international students who wish to improve their capacity to write in English. We will address a number of issues, including topic definition, basic grammar and punctuation, word choice, citation form, definitions of plagiarism, and others.
The enrollment is limited to ten students to allow for substantial one-on-one instruction. The class is scheduled from 2-5 on Thursday afternoons, but we will likely meet as a group only until 3:30 to allow for individual instruction.
