Description: This course will focus on the theory and practice of terrorism/counterterrorism (CT) and insurgency/counterinsurgency (COIN).

We will start by examining two subsets of warfare that have been especially salient of late: terrorism and insurgency (including guerrilla warfare). We will proceed to critically engage the theory and practice of CT and COIN, often through detailed study of critical historical cases and with an eye to contemporary relevance.
