Description: The client/funder for this Policy Research Project is the St. David?s foundation. This project will analyze the characteristics of patients who have generated the most uncompensated care in the last year at the hospitals in the St. David?s system as well as possibly in the Indigent Care Collaboration that includes Seton, Brackenridge and other clinics in order to determine what sorts of public health and community based interventions would have been likely to have had the most effective impact.
It is anticipated that model programs across the country will be studied and analyzed and that there will be a conference in March or April to present the projects findings as well as possibly featuring model programs identified and to develop future Austin based initiatives.
