Description: The seminar will examine current efforts to strengthen American high school education with special attention to relevant national and state policy initiatives, large-scale foundation initiatives, and grassroots education reform initiatives. We will trace the history of these initiatives and subject them to critical analysis. Students will have an opportunity to interview leading figures in policymaking, philanthropy, and education reform and will, in small groups, work on projects tied to the recent National Education Summit on High Schools.
