Description: PA 190G Writing III is the final course in a three-part series aimed at developing the advanced writing skills of individuals pursuing careers in global policy.  Lectures will address the writing conventions and practices that characterize the internal government communications that inform and drive the foreign policy process.  Writing exercises based on current and historic events will enable students to employ these conventions and develop a familiarity with a range of documents that serve specific purposes in the policy process:  memoranda of conversation, briefing memoranda and talking points, action or decision memoranda, biographies, spot reports and analytical reports.
