Breakout Workshops

Private Insurance Options for Small Business:
This workshop will focus on insuring employees of small businesses and explore solutions ofr providing coverage to this group of Texans.

High Risk Pool
This discussion will address issues related to the Texas Health Insurance Risk Pool, including financing, premiums, and availability.

Expansion Options for CHIP Medicaid
This workshop will discuss possible methods of expanding CHIP and Medicaid to a wider range of Texans, for example, using the 1931 waiver and including seniors and the disabled.

Improving outreach and simplification for CHIP and Medicaid
The focus of this workshop is to explore outreach methods that have proven to successfully reach eligible populations.

Hispanic Issues in Health Insurance
Over 50% of the uninsured in Texas are Hispanic. This workshop will discuss options to increase the number of insured within this particularly vulnerable population.

An opportunity to discuss the findings and recommendations presented in the breakout sessions.
