Deadline: June 1, 2010
ICAA will have a poster session which will bring together emerging scholars work that demonstrates how issues of disability, caregiving and long-term care policy profoundly impact the health and long-term care of Mexican-origin people in late life. Health disparities are complex and multifaceted, thus, organizers hope to begin an interdisciplinary discussion of the unique situational factors and cultural behaviors that interact to impact the health and functioning of aging Mexican Americans. Research along these lines will inform specific public health interventions related to disease prevention and ultimately inform public policy decisions that will protect the health of aging Latinos.
