Description:The Master of Global Policy Studies Program and the Center for International Business Education and Research present Professor Vijay Mahajan on "Africa Rising: How 900 Million African Consumers Offer More than You Think."

The talk will be based on Professor Mahajan's new book, Africa Rising, published by Wharton School Publishing, which notes that Africa is one of the fastest growing markets in the world, with massive needs and surprising buying power. Professor Mahajan will discuss his travels across the continent to study the successful strategies of global companies and local entrepreneurs.

Professor Mahajan holds the John P. Harbin Centennial Chair in Business at the McCombs School at the University of Texas at Austin. He edited the Journal of Marketing Research and has received numerous lifetime rewards including the American Marketing Association's Charles Coolidge Parlin Award for visionary leadership in scientific marketing.
