The Employees Retirement System of Texas (ERS) is responsible for conducting an interim study of how to best provide benefits for state employees and retirees. The ERS will host three educational forums in November regarding the future of state benefits. Dr. David Warner will moderate the Insurance Forum Q&A panel on November 1 at 3pm. Sherri Greenberg will moderate the Retirement Forum Q&A on November 9th at 3pm.

LBJ School graduate Dana Jepson ('93) is coordinating research for the health insurance portion of the interim study. She has enlisted help from the students in Dr. David Warner's State Health Policy class. Ms. Jepson appreciates the contribution of the LBJ School students: "It was important to me to reach out to the LBJ School community during the research phase of the project. The recommendations that we present to the Legislature next year could have far-reaching consequences for state employee benefits. Each student is contributing an important piece of the puzzle, and they are getting practical experience working on a real world project. I'm really looking forward to seeing the results of their efforts."
