The Center for Health and Social Policy, in collaboration with Raising Texas, is featuring a presentation by Dr. Walter Gilliam, Director of the Edward Zigler Center in Child Development and Social Policy at Yale University, on his national research on preschool expulsion rates in state-funded programs.

CHASP professor Cynthia Osborne will open the event with a discussion of the importance of early influences on childhood development. LaShonda Brown, Executive Director of the Texas Association for the Education of Young Children, will close with a discussion of the importance of training early care and education providers to work with children with challenging behaviors and behavioral health concerns.
