On February 25, 2009, the Center for Health and Social Policy (CHASP) will host Practice What We Teach, an education policy conference that will feature research by graduate students in various disciplines campus-wide. "We are very pleased by the quality and diversity of our graduate students’ work," says CHASP Professor Jane Lincove. "Our goal is to bring these students together to learn from each other and get feedback from education policy professionals."
Following registration at 9:00 am, Debra Haas, President of Haas Policy Consulting and Adjunct Professor at the LBJ School, will deliver a keynote address, “A Practitioner’s Path in Education Policy,” in the Thompson Conference Center Auditorium. Participants will then attend breakout sessions that feature presentations by students that focus on various research topics, and the conference will end with a networking luncheon. The agenda provides additional details about topics to be discussed.
Co-hosts of Practice What We Teach include the LBJ School of Public Affairs, Charles A. Dana Center, University Council for Educational Administration, Texas Center for Education Policy, and Ray Marshall Center for the Study of Human Resources.
