Dr. Natalie (Talia) Jomini Stroud is an Assistant Professor of Communication Studies and Assistant Director of the Annette Strauss Institute for Civic Participation. Her recent book, Niche News: The Politics of News Choice (Oxford University Press, 2011) explores the causes, consequences, and prevalence of the preference for likeminded political information. Her research on this topic has received several awards, including the K. Kyoon Hur Award from the International Communication Association and the Michael Pfau Outstanding Article Award from the National Communication Association. Her research has appeared in Political Communication, Journal of Communication, Political Behavior, Public Opinion Quarterly, and the International Journal of Public Opinion Research. She teaches courses in public opinion, media effects and politics, and quantitative research methods. She is honored to have received the 2010 Outstanding Faculty Member Award from the Communication Studies Graduate Community and to be a member of the Society for Teaching Excellence.
