Lobbying for Non-Profits
Classes will consist mainly of discussions and exercises. In addition, there will be several guest speakers. This class will be extremely participatory, and students must read the assignments in advance and attend weekly classes. Since this is a graduate seminar, students will be expected to come to class prepared to contribute to or lead discussions and exercises, and interact with speakers.
We will examine lobbying by nonprofit organizations through readings and discussions and speakers. This will be a very applied class with individual writing exercises, case study presentations and a lobbying simulation. For the final term project, each student will develop an original lobbying plan for an actual nonprofit organization of his or her choice.
