Join Evan Smith and KLRU's Texas Monthly Talks for an interview with Arianna Huffington. Huffington works as an author, a nationally syndicated columnist and the co-founder and editor-in-chief of The Huffington Post. That site dates to 2005, and for many it has become a must-read online source for political and other news. Huffington, who was born in Greece and educated at Cambridge University, has lived in the US since 1980. Her connection to US politics reaches back almost that far. Her early political involvement was as a liberal Democrat, although she shifted to become a prominent spokesperson for conservative causes with a number of high-visibility roles in the early and mid-1990s. Late that decade, her views began to return to the left. She ran as an independent candidate for California governor in 2003, and has since become a vocal campaigner for a wide range of progressive candidates and causes.
