This week LBB posted initial budget documents for the 2012-13 biennium. Now included on the site are House legislative budget estimates, in both summary and full-length form, in addition to the draft General Appropriations Bill (HB 1). Additionally they have posted the Senate's summary and full-length budget estimates and draft General Appropriations Bill (SB 1). These documents provide a general framework for discussions on how the state will formulate its budget to deal with a projected $29 billion budget shortfall.

LBB Source is a guide to the Legislative Budget Board's website designed to facilitate use of LBB documents by Texas legislative staff and policymakers. The site was designed by members of the State Finance & Online Transparency project at the LBJ School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas.
