LBJ School Dean Robert Hutchings to Moderate the Discussion
AUSTIN, Texas-- October 26, 2010-- Former United States Senator Chuck Robb (D-VA) will hold a noon-time discussion on Thursday, Oct. 28 from 12:30 to 1:30 in Room 3.124. Dean Robert Hutchings will moderate a conversation with Robb about the role of the Congress in intelligence oversight, and in foreign policy more generally.
Sandwiches and soft drinks will be available.
Charles Robb served as a United States Senator from 1989 to 2001, and during his tenure he became the only member of Congress ever to serve simultaneously on all three national security committees (Intelligence, Armed Services and Foreign Relations). Senator Robb previously served as Lieutenant Governor of Virginia from 1978 to 1982 and as Virginia's 64th Governor from 1982 to 1986.
Robb, who is married to Lynda Johnson Robb, remains actively engaged in public affairs, having served on the President's Foreign Intelligence Advisory Board and having co-chaired the Iraq Intelligence Commission (formerly titled the "Commission on the Intelligence Capabilities of the United States Regarding Weapons of Mass Destruction").
