The LBJ School of Public Affairs will host a celebration of the 150th Anniversary of Cinco de Mayo and the Battle of Puebla on April 19 at 6:00 PM with a special event featuring a panel discussion on "The Mexican and U.S. Perspectives on Cinco de Mayo." The panel will feature Rosalba Ojeda, Consul General of Mexico in Austin; Victoria Rodriguez, Ashbel Smith Professor of Public Affairs; Dr. Erika Pani of El Colegio de Mexico; and Martha Cotera, Independent Scholar and Community Advocate. The panel discussion will be moderated by Peter M. Ward, C.B. Smith Sr. Centennial Chair in U.S.-Mexico Relations.
A reception will immediately follow the panel discussion. The event will take place in the Bass Lecture Hall, located on the basement level of the LBJ School of Public Affairs, 2315 Red River St., Austin, Texas, 78712. Space is limited.
