Mark McKinnon is Vice Chairman of Public Strategies, Inc. and President of Maverick Media. He is an award-winning media producer and communications strategist who has served as principal media advisor for more than 100 corporate and political campaigns in the United States, Latin America, and Africa. As Chief Media Advisor to President George W. Bush, McKinnon directed the advertising effort for the 2000 and 2004 presidential campaigns.
According to Broadcasting and Cable magazine, McKinnon is one of “a handful of players behind every big decision, consensus, or roadblock in Washington . . . putting a unique, sometimes hidden stamp on the outcome of today’s debates.”
President Bush recently nominated McKinnon to serve as a member of the Broadcasting Board of Governors, the independent, autonomous entity responsible for all U.S. government and government-sponsored, non-military, international broadcasting. He is one of nine governors of the board, whose membership includes Karen Hughes and Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice.
Once recognized by Campaigns & Elections magazine as one of the “Rising Stars” in American political consulting, McKinnon has been awarded more than 30 Pollie and Telly awards, honoring the nation’s best political and public affairs advertising.
