Dean Robert Hutchings Hosts Alumni Event in Washington, D.C.
AUSTIN, Texas-- November 19, 2010-- On November 16, LBJ School Dean Robert Hutchings and Michelle Potter-Bacon, alumni affairs coordinator, hosted an alumni reception for alumni in Washington, D.C. Seventy alumni were in attendance along with special guests Lynda Johnson Robb, Former Dean James B. Steinberg, Professor Emeritus Ken Tolo and Associate Professor Eugene Gholz.
Hutchings took the opportunity to announce the LBJ School Washington, D.C. Summer program which will launch in 2011. The inaugural program will offer two courses to LBJ School students and alumni, students from other parts of the University of Texas system, and other qualified applicants, at the discretion of the instructor, interested in continuing education or summer credit hours.
Additionally, all alumni were encouraged to participate in a brief, online alumni career contact list survey. The information provided will be given only to current LBJ School students that request specific names of alumni working in their desired sector, specialization or region. Michelle Potter-Bacon also announced her intentions to create a quarterly alumni e-newsletter which will career and personal news as well as alumni-specific event information. She encourages alumni to contact her with any news items for inclusion in the newsletter.
