LBJ Alumna Carron Scott Whittaker Wins Corporate Person of the Year Award for NFBPA
Carron Scott Whittaker, a 1994 graduate of the University of Texas LBJ School of Public Affairs and Accenture Manager, was recently recognized by the National Forum for Black Public Administrators (NFBPA) with its prestigious Corporate Person of the Year Award. The award honors Whittaker's commitment to mentoring Accenture staff and to public and private partnerships that improve the quality of life for the community and its citizens.
The annual award is given to an individual working in the private sector who has made significant contributions to NFBPA and recognizes that person's commitment to the organization's mission of grooming and supporting young public managers and aspiring executives.
In addition to her responsibilities at Accenture, Whittaker, an NFBPA member for the past 16 years, also serves as a member of the NFBPA Corporate Advisory Council, a position she has held for the past 10 years with high regard. Whittaker currently resides in Austin, Texas with her husband and daughter.
Whittaker received the award at the Marks of Excellence Award Banquet, held during NFBPA's Forum 2008 National Conference in Little Rock, Arkansas, which also commemorated the organization's 25th anniversary. She grew up in Altadena, California and is a graduate of UC Berkeley and received her Master's Degree from University of Texas LBJ School of Public Affairs.
