- Howard Prince is awarded the John C. Flanagan Lifetime Achievement Award in Toronto, Canada in August 2009 by the American Psychological Association’s Division of Military Psychology. The Flanagan Award is given to psychologists whose life work significantly advances the theory and the practice of military psychology.
- Geoffrey Tumlin is honored with the prestigious Catedra Laboris designation from the University of Monterrey in Nuevo Leon, Mexico in September 2009. The Catedra Laboris designation, which is akin to an honorary Chair in Labor Relations, is given to a small number of visiting professors and other officials who have been invited to speak at the University of Monterrey in the past few years, and indicates that the presenter is part of the University of Monterrey’s Catedra Laboris group of experts.
- Geoffrey Tumlin represents the Center for Ethical Leadership at the LBJ School’s Office of Conferences and Training’s Ethics in Government Conference in October 2009. Tumlin presented a concurrent session on “Leading Change”.
- Howard Prince was awarded the Eyes of Texas Excellence Award for outstanding contributions to student life at the University of Texas in the Spring of 2008 by a student organization, The Eyes of Texas. The award recognized Dr. Prince as follows: "Your dedication to the education of undergraduate and graduate students at UT is exemplary. Your efforts to build one of the strongest leadership centers and program in the nation show your commitment to improve the education of UT students. Your constant and very valuable participation at university wide events, as well as your permanent willingness to help out student organizations demonstrate a true, selfless devotion to the university community. You have touched the lives of many students you counsel and educate and you have been a voice of innovation and dedication, and yes, an example of leadership. - Dr. Geoffrey Tumlin gave a plenary keynote address at Wiley College’s 2008 Ethical Leadership Conference in Marshall, Texas in January 2008. Wiley College is home of “The Great Debaters,” a recent movie about the Wiley college debate team of the 1930s produced by Oprah Winfrey and starring Denzel Washington.
- Dr. Howard Prince gives presentation on "The Ethical Responsibilities of Leaders: Earning and Deserving the Public's Trust" at the National Purchasing Institute Annual Conference.
- Dr. Geoffrey Tumlin represented the LBJ School at the National Association of Schools of Public Affairs and Administration's Annual Conference in Seattle. He participated in a panel discussing the role of leadership centers in public affairs schools.
- "Staying Out of the Penalty Box: Ethical Leadership for the Long Haul." Dr. Prince addressed the Greenlights 2007 Crossroads Annual Conference for Nonprofit Excellence, an event attracting hundreds of non-profit organizations and leaders from throughout Central Texas.
- At the Massachusetts Police Leadership Institute Dr. Prince conducted a one day workshop on "How to Develop Leaders in Police Organizations," attended by police officers from all over the New England area.
- The International Leadership Association is the premier association of leadership educators and scholars and draws members from many other countries in addition to the United States. Dr. Tumlin led a panel on leadership practices for the classroom and organizational consulting and Dr. Prince conducted a 90 minute round-table discussion at their 2007 conference in Vancouver in November.
- At the California Command College, Dr. Prince conducted a one-day workshop entitled "Lessons from the US Army on How to Develop Ethical Leaders" in November of this year. The workshop was attended by police officers who will use the course to improve their ability to lead in their current work roles and prepare them for advancing leadership roles in the future.
- Dr. Tumlin participated in a panel on teaching ethics at the National Communication Association's annual convention on Chicago, Illinois.
