Advanced Research Methods
Description: This class provides an overview of the theory and practice of econometric and statistical techniques used to measure the causal effects of policy on observed empirical outcomes. The class will combine an informal development of the required theory with a substantial amount of practical application of the theory to real world data sets, in problems and exercises.
Required texts will include Angrist and Pischke, Mostly Harmless Econometrics: An Empiricist’s Companion, and Cameron and Trivedi, Microeconometrics Using Stata.
