Description: This class considers the practical challenges of assessing program impact. We will study a dozen landmark program evaluations and ask ourselves what features do the most influential evaluations possess. Leading practitioners will visit the class and share what they have learned about this work. Students will also read about and discuss the overarching principles of systematic evaluation. The goal of the class is to impart a full appreciation of the challenges of designing and executing effective program evaluations.
