Description: This Advanced Policy Economics course, Globalization, surveys policy issues in response to globalization. We will discuss the definition of globalization, its causes, and its effects on developed and developing countries. The dynamics of trade, capital flows, and immigration and the policy responses to those flows are all part of the "big picture." We specifically cover wages, regulatory policies, tax policies, exchange rate policies, the banking system and financial crises. The first part of the course primarily concerns developed countries; the latter weeks primarily concern developing countries.
