Description: The Policy Research Project "Evaluating Technology in Community-Based Services" will be a part of the LBJ School's long-term evaluation of the State of Texas' transformation of mental health care services, with an emphasis in this PRP on the role of information and communication technologies. But the PRP will also investigate and report on how communities can expand and strengthen a range of public services -- from health care to community policing to environmental quality -- using the Internet, mobile phones, video, podcasts, instant messaging and other communications media. The PRP will attempt to identify and describe a new "toolbox" for community services and citizen engagement.
