Policy Research Project
This course fulfills requirements for the following specialization(s):

Description: This PRP will focus on a comprehensive assessment of the work of each of the Provincial Reconstruction Teams (PRT) in Afghanistan between 2003 and the present. For each of the twelve U.S.-led and 14 NATO ally-led teams, the study will analyze:
- the model of the PRT (organization, the number of personnel, type of personnel, and length of deployment);
- examine the funding streams (where funding originates, decisionmaking over budget allocations, and what funding is used for, why and how much);
- gather information about the activities of the PRT, to include, projects completed, amount spent, assessments of the effectiveness of the project, current status of project,
- complete an assessment of the security conditions in the PRT area.
The study should reveal useful comparisons between the many different models of PRTs currently conducting stability operations in Afghanistan.
