Analytical Methods for Global Policy Studies
Description: This course addresses the range of quantitative and qualitative methods needed for global policy research. Students will be expected to understand:
- The design of research strategies
- The strengths and weaknesses of qualitative and quantitative research methods
- Principles of decision-making
- Data collection, analysis, and interpretation
- Regression analysis
Before being admitted to this course, students must demonstrate to the Graduate Adviser that they have previously received credit for a statistics course at least at the undergraduate level or that they have passed the LBJ School's preliminary examination in statistics. The exam covers basic descriptive statistics, probability, and graphing.
