Consultation Request Procedure

LBJ graduate students are welcome to either stop by the writing center to schedule an appointment or email the writing advisor for a consultation. Consultations are available only for LBJ graduate students.

I: Summarize your context

  • List your requested appointment date(s) and time(s)
  • Indicate the name of your class and professor
  • Indicate when the assignment is due
  • Attach the assignment sheet (describe the assignment if unavailable). No Exceptions

II: Summarize difficulties and strengths

  • Explain the main difficulties you are having with your text (1-2 sentences)
  • Describe the strengths of your text (1-2 sentences)

III: Attach your text and the assignment sheet

  • Attach your text as a (.doc) file
  • Attach the assignment sheet (describe the assignment if unavailable)

    Career and Fellowship texts
    If applying to dual degree programs, Ph.d programs; or applying for a fellowship, scholarship, internship, or professional job:
    • Provide a link to your specific writing prompt
    • Attach your résumé
