Writing and ESL Assistance

UT Learning Center: Graduate Student Writing Services —University of Texas at Austin
Offers “help with writing in all disciplines and at all levels,” tutoring, and workshops

The University of Texas Law School Writing Center
Provides writing assistance to students attending the UT School of Law

Intellectual Entreprenuership: Dissertation ListServ and Resources—Richard A. Cherwitz
Provides writing resources to those students writing their dissertations

The University of Texas International Office ESL Services
Provides intensive English programs and part-time English classes for ESL students. For students entering a Master’s or Ph.D program, the office recommends the Academic English Program (AEP).For current and admitted students, ESL services offers graduate courses (UT registrar descriptions) on a credit/no credit basis. The classes do not count toward a student’s degree requirements.

Digital Media Lab (for students who have faculty sponsorship— DIIA
“Offers a high-end self-service digital media lab equipped with powerful Mac and PC workstations, a full array of the latest digital media software, and peripherals for input/output. The lab is equipped for digital media authoring, graphics, animation, 3D modeling and visualization, digital video/audio production, slide scanning, and poster printing. It is available for classes or for course-related individual and group projects”

Visualization Laboratory (ACES)—Texas Advanced Computing Center
“Includes updated systems and top-of-the-line equipment, such as Stallion, a Dell visualization cluster with 24 nodes and a 15x5 307 megapixel tiled display, and a Sony SRX-S105 9M pixel flat projection system driven by a high-end Dell workstation”
