Description: What originally started in 1995 as an email list from Craig to let friends know about events in San Francisco, Craigslist has become an international community, with sites in more than 500 cities in 50 countries. The site serves over 40 million community members worldwide and generates around 10 billion page views per month.
Craig Newmark founded the Craigslist Foundation in 2000. Building on his business philosophy of 'people helping people' through straightforward online connections, the Craigslist Foundation’s work is to be a community catalyst for 'helping people help.’ The foundation produces events and online resources for emerging nonprofit leaders to get established, to gain visibility and to develop skills and knowledge for long-term success.
