Description: Matthew Dowd was Chief Campaign Strategist for Bush-Cheney 2004, where he oversaw all of the campaign's media, message development, targeting and research - work that earned him the title of Pollster/Strategist of the Year from the bipartisan American Association of Political Consultants. Prior to the '04 campaign, he served as Senior Advisor to the Republican National Committee and as Director of Polling and Media Planning for the 2000 Bush for President Campaign.
Before 2000, Dowd was President and founding partner of Public Strategies, Inc. During his tenure, he was former Texas Lt. Governor Bob Bullock's chief campaign consultant and was a member of former Senator Lloyd Bentsen's campaign staffs.
Today, Dowd is a founding partner of ViaNovo, an international management and communications consulting firm with offices in Austin, Texas, Washington, D.C., and Monterrey, Mexico. He is also a contributing analyst for Fox News. His forthcoming book on the tactics used by Presidents Bush and Clinton, aimed at business executives, government leaders, and the people they seek to influence, will be published in the Fall of 2006.
