Summary

So which of the options is best for you and your report? The answer depends on several factors:

  • Who will be viewing the report? - If they are not technology savvy or have slow connections, stick with the Web page options and smaller sections.

  • Do they have fast or slow network connections? - If they have slow connections lean toward breaking the report into smaller sections or creating a PDF version of the document which will be smaller.

  • Will they need to print the report? - If yes, creating a PDF file or uploading the original Word document may be the best bets.

  • Will they need to edit the report? - The orginal Word document is the best bet here although PDF also is a possibility. If you will be taking written comments, the Save As Web Page option will also work.

  • Do you want to take full advantage of the Web - Perhaps the value of your report will be greatly enhanced by linking to other Web resources.

There is no right answer. You can even use several options. Produce a PDF version of the report for easy printing and another version of the report broken into sections for browsing on the Web. Experiment with different options and see what works best for you.
