Server Options

Contains descriptions of the four main server options available to UT Web publishers:

• Web Central Server
• Departmental Server
• Webspace
• Personal Server

Departmental Publishing

UT research centers, academic departments, and administrative units have special publishing areas on Web Central, a UNIX machine. Provides step-by-step instructions on how to publish from Web Central.

Faculty Publishing

Provides instructions for UT faculty who want to publish course materials from Web Central.

Student Organization Publishing

If your organization does not have a Web page, Information Technology Services provides free web publishing space for student organizations. Lists instructions for publishing from Web Central for registered UT student organizations.

Personal Publishing

UT faculty, staff, and students can publish from several ITS computers:

• Webspace
• UNIX system: UTS
• Austin Services: AMS, see Window Services: Web Publishing for instructions

Costs

Users who publish from personal or departmental servers or use Webspace incur no costs from ITS. These costs apply only to those who are publishing from the central or satellite servers maintained by ITS: UTS and Austin Services.
