Telnet

What is Telnet?

Telnet is a program used to log in to other computers, such as a Unix, NT, or OpenVMS host computer, remotely on the Internet. It generally emulates a VT100 terminal and SSH (Secure Shell) enables protected connections to hosts. For example, you can log in to a computer at UT to write a C program or modify your Web pages. You can also use Telnet to connect to library catalogs, the Texas State Job Bank, and thousands of other computers.

The following SSH/Telnet Client programs are available on BevoWare.

Macintosh Telnet
MacSSH (Mac OS 8.6-9.x)
JellyfiSSH (Mac OS X)

Windows Telnet
