AUSTIN, Texas—The University of Texas at Austin will close today (Tuesday, Dec. 12) at 2:30 p.m. because of inclement weather.

A close watch will be kept on the weather to determine the status of opening on Wednesday morning. This decision will be communicated as soon as available information allows. Interested parties are encouraged to watch and listen to their local television and radio stations in addition to checking the "Spotlight" section at the top of the UT Austin home page at .

If it is necessary to delay opening UT Austin on Wednesday, final examinations that would have taken place at that time will be rescheduled for Sunday, Dec. 17. Further information on these rescheduled examinations will be forthcoming with information made available on the UT Austin home page as well as through the UT Austin e-mail system.
