UT News Briefs: UT Child Care Center; DuPont donation

For the second year in a row, the University of Texas Child Care Center is expanding its regular day-care program to include child care for families attending UT home football games this season. Child care for children ages 3 to 12 will be available beginning Sept. 1 for all home games. Remaining dates for University of Texas home games this year are Sept. 8 and 29, Oct. 20 and Nov. 10. The center, on the south side of Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium, will open an hour and a half before the game and remain open for an hour and a half after the game. Snacks and activities will be provided. Parents should pack a lunch or dinner. The cost of this service is $45 for the first child and $25 for each sibling.

Latinos and a Changing America radio program by Latino USA to be aired during Hispanic Heritage Month beginning Sept. 15

Hispanic Heritage Month and Latinos’ contributions to the United States will be recognized in a one-hour special program, Latinos and a Changing America, that begins Sept. 15 on Latino USA, a production partnership of KUT Radio at The University of Texas at Austin.

Texas-style welcoming activities planned for new students at The University of Texas at Austin

The 5th annual event provides students with a glimpse into the university's many traditions and resources on the night before fall classes begin.

National Center for Educational Accountability approved by University of Texas System regents

Johnson Centennial Chair in National Policy — at the LBJ School of Public Affairs at The University of Texas at Austin beginning in August. The previous holder of the LBJ Centennial Chair was the late Barbara Jordan.
