Population Research Center awarded $2.4 million grant from National Institute of Child Health and Human Development

AUSTIN, Texas—The University of Texas at Austin's Population Research Center has been awarded a five-year, $2.4 million grant from the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development to support the center's infrastructure.
The grant, which extends through June 2007, will support administrative services, computing and information services and development.
The center is an interdisciplinary research and training unit that supports and advances the research of 46 population scientists from the fields of sociology, economics, educational psychology, anthropology, human ecology, geography, social work and the LBJ School of Public Affairs.
Central research themes include:
- health disparities
- religion, family life and health
- children and families
- education, transitions to adulthood and the labor force
- Latin American demography and social policy.
