Electrical engineer receives $400,000 to evaluate maximum capacity of wireless networks

The fundamental capacity limits of wireless networks may finally be characterized thanks to a $400,000 National Science Foundation Early Career Development (CAREER) award given to an electrical engineer at The University of Texas at Austin. The CAREER awards are prestigious grants for young teacher-scholars expected to be future academic leaders.

Exemplary migrant students to be honored March 21 at The University of Texas at Austin

The University of Texas at Austin on March 21 will honor 38 exemplary migrant high school students and announce the names of two seniors selected as Migrant Students of the Year during the 2005 Migrant Student Recognition Ceremony and Luncheon at the Frank C. Erwin Special Events Center.

The University of Texas at Austin will host its sixth annual Explore UT—the biggest open house in Texas –from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, March 5, with 30,000 visitors of all ages expected to participate in a day of free hands-on activities, performances, demonstrations and lectures.
