AUSTIN, Texas— University of Texas at Austin President Larry R. Faulkner will meet with UT-bound students and their parents, as well as alumni and community leaders, during the Texas Exes Dallas Chapter Send-Off celebration at 7 p.m. today (June 28) at the Doubletree Hotel Campbell Center, 8250 North Central Expressway.

The goal of the event is to welcome incoming freshmen and their parents to the university, and answer any questions they might have about the upcoming year.

Traveling with Dr. Faulkner to the Send-Off will be representatives from the Texas Exes and university officials who, during the “Longhorn Hook ’em Up” session, will provide information and answer questions about student housing, financial aid, student government, Camp Texas and life at the university.

The event, which is sponsored by the Texas Exes Dallas Chapter, is part of an effort to enhance and expand the university's relationships with various constituencies in Texas. Similar Send-Offs will be held in McAllen, Laredo, Houston, San Antonio and Brownsville.
