William M. Sage, a leading expert in health law and policy, has joined The University of Texas at Austin as vice provost for health affairs and will teach in the School of Law as the James R. Dougherty Chair for Faculty Excellence. The appointments were effective Friday, Sept. 1.

A new analysis of 50 years of changes in freshwater inputs to the Arctic and North Atlantic oceans may shed light on what's behind the recently observed increase in freshwater in the North Atlantic. University of Texas at Austin marine scientist Dr. Jim McClelland and his colleagues report their findings in the Aug. 25 issue of the journal Science.

University of Texas Film Institute’s first film ‘The Quiet’ to screen in theaters nationwide Sept. 1

'The Quiet,' the first film from The University of Texas Film Institute and its for-profit production company, Burnt Orange Productions, will make its theatrical debut in Los Angeles and New York City tomorrow, and on 300 screens nationwide next Friday, Sept. 1. A benefit screening will take place in Austin on Aug. 30.
