Shakespeare at Winedale Presents "Romeo and Juliet," "The Merchant of Venice" and "Antony and Cleopatra"

Event: The 38th summer season of Shakespeare at Winedale begins July 16 and features three of the bard's beloved plays: "Romeo and Juliet," "The Merchant of Venice" and "Antony and Cleopatra."

Tickets are $5 for students and $10 for adults. Visit Shakespeare at Winedale online to make reservations.

When: July 16 to Aug. 10

Where: Winedale Historical Center, Round Top. A map and directions may be obtained online.

Background: Established in 1970 as an English course in the College of Liberal Arts, Shakespeare at Winedale has grown into a year-round program that reaches communities across the state. Students in the summer program spend two months in the Texas countryside studying and performing three plays in a converted 19th century barn that serves as the theater.
