Fine Arts Library Announces AV Retrieval Service

Jan. 27, 2010

AUSTIN, Texas — The Fine Arts Library at The University of Texas at Austin will offer a new service to expand access to its audiovisual collections.

Users will now be able to have audiovisual materials at the Fine Arts Library delivered to a convenient campus branch of the University of Texas Libraries.

The recent relocation of the Audiovisual Library from central campus created access issues for some users, so the Fine Arts Library has implemented the new service on a relatively short timeline using existing resources.

The service has been incorporated into the Libraries catalog to ensure ease of use. Once a user has located the item in the catalog, a request can be made with the click of a button. The item will arrive at a selected library branch location in two to four days. E-mail notification will be sent to the requesting user when the item is available for pick-up.

The materials eligible for this service include media in various formats, including CDs, DVDs, videocassettes, interactive media and CD-ROMs.

Retrieval service is only available for items from the Fine Arts Library's audiovisual collections.
