Event: Explore UT is held on the first Saturday in March when The University of Texas at Austin opens its doors and welcomes the state of Texas to explore, learn and have fun with its faculty, staff and students on the main campus. Explore UT invites Texans of all ages to experience the intellectual life, technological advances and rich natural and cultural resources of one of the leading research universities in the world. Explore UT seeks to broaden horizons and motivate the children of Texas to aspire to higher education.
When: Saturday, March 5, 11 a.m.-5 p.m.
Background: Explore UT offers more than 400 programs for visitors of all ages so there is something of interest for everyone. Activities are free and no registration is required. The event will happen rain or shine. A schedule of events can be found online.
More than 50,000 visitors are expected to arrive on campus for a day of free, fun and interesting lectures, performances, activities and demonstrations.
